Call around and check availability of your date first! Then listen to the voice on the other end of the phone. Are they pushy, overbearing, or loud? Do you want to hire a voice or a master of music that makes your event special? Is the person that is talking to you going to be the one DJ-ing your event? Can they tell you the name of who will be DJ-ing your event?
Be careful of what type of DJ you get! Some DJs have a "personality" that is their "show". What I mean is, When a DJ plays music it is considered his show. That show can consist of a "personality" that they assume during the show. This sometimes results in derrogatory or lewd remarks at guests. This is part of the DJ's show, and at anytime, anyone present may become apart of the show by being the focus of remarks or comments that may make people laugh, but the one who is being laughed at doesn't appreciate it. This sets the DJ as the center of attention. The same is true with RADIO STATION DJs. A radio station dj takes away from the Bride & Groom being the center of attention.
Superstar Entertainment believes that the Bride & Groom should be the center of attention, and your guests should leave as happy as the Bride & Groom when its over. A good DJ doesn't need a "personality" to make a good show. We rely on our professionalism and the music. With the exception of announcements, we don't spend extra time on the microphone trying to MAKE the show. If a DJ can not make a party happen by reading the croud and playing the right music, they do not need to do your wedding, and obviously you do not need to waste your money on them. |
